Tap water situation
In Pakistan, tap water safety is a significant concern, with a large portion of the population lacking access to clean drinking water. Water quality can significantly vary from urban to rural areas, with urban centers typically having better infrastructure. In general, it is recommended to avoid drinking tap water unless it is boiled or otherwise purified. The Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR) is the government body responsible for monitoring and managing water quality across the country.
